I am pleased to report to you that the Baldwin County Public School System has earned District Accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools  Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), a division of AdvancedEd. As previously reported, our school system completed the extensive review process in April, and received the official Report of the Quality Assurance Review Team this week.

In correspondence directed to me as Superintendent, accompanying the report, Dr. Mark Elgart, President and Chief Executive Officer of AdvancedEd, wrote the following:

On behalf of the Quality Assurance Review Team, I am honored to report that the school system has satisfactorily met the expectations and responsibilities of the SACS CASI Guided Self-Study in pursuit of District Accreditation. Additionally, the Quality Assurance Review Team certified in the report that the Baldwin County Public Schools met all the standards for accreditation for District Accreditation. Consequently, the Quality Assurance Review Team recommends to the AdvancedED Accreditation Commission, unanimously and without reservation, that the Baldwin County Public Schools be awarded District Accreditation.

Dr.Elgart's letter further stated:

On behalf of the Quality Assurance Review Team, SACS CASI and AdvancedED, I once again commend and congratulate you, the professional staff, the Board of Education, and stakeholders throughout the community on this achievement to be awarded District Accreditation as a Quality School System. SACS CASI and AdvancedED look forward to our continued association with the Baldwin County Public Schools and our partnership to improve student learning through accreditation.

I also extend my congratulations to our stakeholders and to every Baldwin County Public Schools employee. I consider it an honor and privilege to serve as your superintendent.
