Positive Behavioral School-Wide Discipline Plan

PBIS takes a pro-active approach to discipline, which includes three levels of prevention.

Primary prevention is for the 80% to 90% of students who require only universal intervention to behave appropriately, such as positive classroom and school-wide management.  Secondary prevention is for the 5% to 15% of students who are at risk for problem behavior requiring specialized group interventions to successfully follow school and classroom rules.  Tertiary prevention is for the 1% to 7% of students with chronic or intense behavior problems requiring specialized interventions and individualized interventions and individualized student systems for achieving behavioral expectations.
